Responsiveness

The average speed at which a business or process operates; the ability to complete activities within a given time, under pre-defined conditions. Responsiveness has three dimensions:

  • Cycle Time = The time passed between the start and the end of one or more events. Consider order cycle time as the time between receiving an order and delivering the product to the customer
  • Response Rate = The percentage of events occurring within a given time. Consider the number of support cases closed as a percentage of the number of support requests
  • Velocity = The amount of work that can be performed during a given time. Consider the number of shipments completed in a month

The time required to adjust to changing business conditions is a Adaptability metric type.
