Pick

The activities associated with locating, collecting, transferring and grouping products in preparation of transportation. This includes scheduling picks, issuing pick instructions and recording the completion of the pick process, and may include recording the lot numbers or serial numbers picked on the order.

Use Cases

  • Picking return-to-vendor materials
  • Picking products to be send to a repair center
  • In Retail: Collecting all in-store returned merchandize

Notes

Picking in a Reverse Logistics supply chain is typically different from Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, and Engineer-to-Order supply chains. The pick list is derived from the Return Authorization not the Sales Order. Deliver Cycle Time Storage Costs Pick, Pack & Ship
