Understanding Copyright Law

Before submitting a notice take note of the following:

  • The structure of OpenReference frameworks is similar to most other frameworks. Copyright law does not grant organizations or individuals copyrights to process framework structures. Similarly, common words and short phrases are not protected under copyright law.
  • OpenReference, Open Reference Wiki and orwiki.org are names used by the Open Reference Initiative. The Open Reference Initiative does not use other names or mimic names of proprietary references published by other organizations.
