The activities associated with performing one or more tasks to convert raw materials, components, parts, or sub-assemblies into sellable products, custom sub-assemblies or custom semi-finished products. The product is produced for a specific Customer Order based on the order-engineering for this order. Production volumes are determined by the orders for which they are produced.
Use Cases
- Mixing, separating, forming, machining, or chemical processing to Customer Order specification
- Producing a order-engineered sub-assembly for a production order (e.g. trimming the engine for an Engineer-to-Order truck
- Final assembly of a production order (e.g. final assembly of the above truck)
Notes
Typically M3 manufacturing processes employ multiple versions of Produce in parallel and/or in sequence.
