Is Strategic Sourcing a Supply Chain Operations process? Pro

• It looks like a Source process, therefore it is a Source process?
• If not Source, then what? It is not Sales & Support or Finance & Accounting

Con

• The Source processes in Supply Chain Operations are more execution oriented: Order materials from a contract, etc. Strategic Sourcing is about setting up a supplier, not the transactions.
• Feels like the process has different goals, metrics: Cycle time to close a contract, selecting the right supplier. Supply Chain Operations Source processes are measuring more about the ability to execute the contracts.
