A Term describing the status of a shipment of a package or packages (Freight Status Update). Picked Up indicates the Carrier has picked up the goods from the shipping point. Typically this means the package is in transit to or at the first facility in the Carrier's logistics network. The package is received, weighed and shipped from this facility. Once it ships from this facility the status will change to In Transit.

Use Cases

A Courier Express and Parcel shipment typically has statuses in the following sequence:

  1. Information Received
  2. Picked Up
  3. In Transit
  4. Out for Delivery
  5. Delivered

This includes customer and Reverse Logistics shipments.
