A Field Safety Notice is a document issued by a manufacturer of goods with the intent to notify the recipient of the risk of death or serious illness or injury related to use or application of the specified product, and a list of proposed actions to minimize or prevent such occurrence ('field corrective actions').

A Field Safety Notice specifies the field corrective actions taken by the manufacturer to reduce the risk of harm to users, operators and/or others (the 'safety event'), and/or to minimize the occurrence of the safety event.
