A Bill of Lading is a commercial Document issued by a Carrier which details a shipment and gives title of the shipment to a specified party. This includes a list of all items and quantities on the delivery.

The electronic formats for Bill of Lading include: EDI 104 (air), 211 (road), 404 (rail), 858 (generic, government), IFTMCS.

Alternative names include: Waybill, AWB.
