A Term describing the status of a shipment of goods or packages (Freight Status Update). In Transit indicates the goods are in transit (moving) between the first and last facilities in the Carrier's logistics network. In Transit may also be used to describe the status of Inventory in transit between locations in the supply chain network.

Use Cases

A Courier Express and Parcel shipment typically has statuses in the following sequence:

  1. Information Received
  2. Picked Up
  3. In Transit
  4. Out for Delivery
  5. Delivered

This includes customer and Reverse Logistics shipments.
