The activities associated with the establishment of a plan to align available competencies to the competencies required to operate the supply chain. Typical elements of a competency development plan include: Training, Hiring and Redeployment.
- Training: Identify training needs to bring existing resource to the required competency level
- Hiring: Add competencies and resources by hiring/adding resources with the required competency level
- Redeployment: Move resources to positions based on competency match, including moving resources out
Each of these elements have a cost associated with executing the plan.
